Uncertainty:Easily said that done!
The principle is always add errors. Add the absolute errors or the fractional errors.
If you add or deduct quantities then add its absolute errors. If you mulitiply or divide quantities then add its fractional errors.
Your final answer should look something like this:
Z = (2.0+5.00 ) Error = 0.5+0.05
Z= 7.0 Error =0.6
Y= (5.00-2.0 ) Error = 0.05+0.5
Y= 3.o Error =0.6
P= 2.0x 5.00 , % Error =0.25% +10% =(0.05 of 2.0 and 0.5 of 5.00 ) in %
P=10.0, % Error =10.25% of 10.0
P=10.0 Error 1.025
Therefore P should be written as 10 as error is 1
If Q= 5.00/2.0, % Error = 10.25%
Q = 2.50, Error = 10.25% of 2.5
Q= 2.50, Error = 0.3
Therefore Q should be written as 2.5 as error is 0.3
If R= 5.00x (square of 2.0), % Error =( 2x 0.25% )+ 10%
R= 20.00, % Error = 10.5%
R=20.00 , Error = 2 (10.5% of 20.00)
Therefore R should be written as 20 as error is 2
Multiply and divide does not change the rule.
