What happens to p and n type semiconductor?

Another energy level is added to the energy band diagram, The electrons is n type created a new energy level right below the conduction band.
The p type created a new energy level right above the valence band .In both these scenarios the conduction takes place easily due to narrow energy band gap.In the p- type,the electron moves up from the valence band to the new energy band. This frees up holes in the valence band , hence movement of holes are easily encouraged.In the n-type the excess electrons occupying the new energy level moves up the conduction band easily .
