Two types of potential: Accelerating and Deflecting potential
Accelerating potential : Use eV=change in KE (most of the time is final KE as initial is zero)
Deflecting potential : Use kinematics equation in 2D but find acceleration prior to that. Key to solving this projectile motion is this crucial information : the time spent within the plate.Time has no direction and therefore used vertically and horizontally.
Q1 e) Accelerating potential is increased the velocity is increased and therefore time spent in the deflecting plates decreased and hence vertical displacement is reduced.
