Fundamentals: Equilibrium

A rigid object (not a point object) in equilibrium will have to satisfy two conditions , Pt 1. No translation -resultant force = 0. Pt 2. No rotation -no resultant moment. Smooth wall the normal reaction is 90 degrees to surface. Rough floor the resultant reaction is at an angle to the surface due to normal reaction and fricition.
