Fundamentals: Power loss in transmission

In a step up transformer, the efficiency is 100 % but there is power loss due to resistance wires. The power loss can easily be calculated using I2R and not V2/R as the current through the wires is the secondary current but the pd across the resistance wire is not known unless calculated using pd = IR.
