To find Binding energy is to find the mass of constituents (nucleons) deduct mass of nucleus and calculate the energy released by this mass defect.
However , the situation may arise where the mass of constituents are given as (nucleons) + electrons deduct mass of ATOM and the energy released by this mass defect is binding energy of atom (inclusive of BE of electron) which is relatively small and therefore insignificant .
