Fundamentals : Apparent weight

When one stand on the weighing scale the reading is our apparent weight. One's true weight is gravitation force, since we rotate about Earth axis, apparent weight W' = W -m a , where a is the centripetal acceleration.

In space, where there is little force of gravitation , we may create feeling of weight by rotating in a space ship . The centripetal force is the force acting on a astronaut if the astronaut is rotating. This feeling of force on astronaut felt like 'weight'is the apparent weight.
