MCQ :When speed is needed, your resolving technique mus be good and quick. I notice some have very slow method of resolving and in ability to figure out the angles involved. You should work hard at it until you can resolve mentally. Small things does contribute to a large extent to your success,

I am quite shocked to see you do working that I never taught you neither in the lecture. I wonder where you get those ideas from. Just be obedient and follow the steps you were taught in YJ and not from elsewhere. Resolve the tension to vertical and horizontal components . Use only the component that has perpendicular distance from your chosen pivot. In any other question where both the 2 components have perpendicular distances then it is not worth resolving as one job turn into two jobs to do. In such a case , I would rather find the perpendicular distance to the force without resolving it.
Summation of force : Total upwards is equal to total downwards forces and
Total leftwards is equal to rightward facing forces. Same as positive and negative forces giving a total of zero resultant forces both horizontally and vertically.
